What is CASS? CASS or Coding Accuracy Support System - is a service offered to mailers, service bureaus, and software vendors that improves the accuracy of matching to delivery point codes, ZIP+4 codes, 5-digit ZIP Codes, and carrier route codes on mail pieces. CASS provides a common platform to measure the quality of address matching software and to diagnose and correct software problems. To qualify for automation rates, addresses in your mailing list must be sufficiently complete to enable matching to the current USPS ZIP+4 File. We CASS-certify all mailing lists through address matching software. By CASS certifying the mailing list, we take every address in the list and try to match it to the USPS ZIP+4 File. This process enables us to add the correct four digits of the zipcode applicable to the point of delivery; carrier route codes and DPBC. DPBC is a delivery point barcode that we can print on the mailpiece and qualifies the mailing for lower automation rate postage. |
